ISU AfterDark is a student group that plans 3 late-night activities a semester. Students are invited to the Memorial Union from 9:00pm - 1:00am to participate in a variety of free activities -open to all ISU students and their guests. Limit 2 guests per ISU student with student ID.

  • Manage event promotion with tabling, digital screens, posters, and more
  • Create posters, handouts, and other advertising content in collaboration with MU graphic designers
  • Maintain the organization's social media
  • Run promotional contests and giveaways throughout event

Bingo Director

  • Purchase all bingo supplies and event prizes
  • Set-up and manage bingo throughout the event
  • Coordinate guest callers and/or call bingo as interested/necessary
  • Ensure that bingo rules are followed and accurate records are kept of prize winners
  • May work with a committee made up of event staff

Activities Director

  • Identify new ideas and organize activities for events
  • Contact vendors to book entertainment or order supplies for activities
  • Act as main contact for vendors before and during event
  • Oversee karaoke and understand how to operate the software
  • May work with a committee made up of event staff

Co-Sponsorship Director

  • Collaborate with student organizations for event programming
  • Manage co-sponsor requests to determine activity plans and needs
  • Act as main contact for co-sponsors before and during event
  • Communicate with Memorial Union and other staff for equipment and setup needs
  • May work with a committee made up of event staff

Interested in serving on the ISU AfterDark Executive Board?  ISU AfterDark is an exciting, fast paced, and high energy organization that helps build event planning and execution skills through the six AfterDark events throughout the academic year. 

General executive member duties, other than those specified in each role are:

  • Attend weekly AfterDark planning meetings
  • Hold at least two office hours a week in the AfterDark office in the Memorial Union
  • Attend all 6 AfterDark events, 3 per semester

Executive Board members may also be asked to help with special events including Late Night at the MU, Cyclone Family Weekend, WinterFest, Cyclone Welcome Weekend, and more.

We are looking for positive, hard-working, and dedicated individuals to join our ISU AfterDark team!

General members will be a part of planning the AfterDark events and will have the opportunity to serve on committees including bingo, activities, marketing, and more! General members will also attend the three ISU AfterDark events per semester, assist with set-up, management, and tear down of events, and complete related tasks that will benefit the event. General member meetings will take place regularly during the spring semester and provide a chance for all members of AfterDark to build connections, gain practical experience in event planning and marketing, and contribute to a fun, safe, late-night opportunity for ISU students.

    Co-sponsoring an activity at an ISU AfterDark event is a dynamic and positive form of PR to promote your organization to other ISU students. Student organizations can take advantage of this fun and interactive way to recruit new members, spread awareness for their cause, or promote an upcoming event.

    The Memorial Union offers opportunities for businesses and departments to advertise to students during ISU AfterDark events. These events are held three times per semester and typically attract 2,000+ students. Three vendor spaces are available at each ISU AfterDark and are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
