Outstanding Event of the Year Award
AfriSolve Idea Hackathon - Africa Learning & Evolving Community
The Outstanding Student Leader of the Year Award is awarded to an individual in a student organization who has:
- Inspired the growth and development of others.
- Made a meaningful contribution to the organization and impacted fellow students.
- Demonstrated initiative by seeking ways to challenge the present and enrich the future of their organization or the community at large.
- Went above and beyond designated duties and expectations.
The Outstanding Student Organization Advisor of the Year Award is awarded to an advisor of a student organization who:
- Has had a positive impact on the student organization and the University community.
- Demonstrates strong advising skills, is readily available to students, and takes great strides to help the organization's leaders.
- Went above and beyond advising duties.
- Is your Student Organization's official Advisor of record and listed as such in the Student Organization Database
The Outstanding Commitment to Service Award is awarded to a student organization that has:
- Demonstrated outstanding service to the Iowa State University and/or surrounding communities.
- Created a commitment to the welfare of one's communities and understanding the need to contribute meaningfully to society.
- Created valuable learning experiences and growth opportunities for students.
The Outstanding Commitment to Community Award is awarded to a student organization that has:
Programmed events or activities that align with Iowa State University’s Principles of Community:
- Respect
- Purpose
- Cooperation
- Richness of Diversity
- Freedom from Discrimination
- Honest and Respectful Expression of Ideas
The Outstanding Event of the Year Award recognizes:
- Student organizations for developing, planning, and implementing an outstanding event for the ISU community.
- All types of events, including ones that are social, cultural, recreational, educational, etc. are eligible.
- An event that has fulfilled the mission of the organization.
- Had a positive impact on the ISU or surrounding communities.
- If necessary, the event must have gone through the Event Authorization System.
- Events taking place after award nominations have closed should be nominated the following year.
