Student Engagement welcomes and encourages student organizations and departments to host events that provide intentional opportunities for students to find community and build connections. Groups that would like to have their event included in Find Your ComMUnity marketing materials may submit a request on our website. Requests must be submitted at least ten days in advance of the event and proposed events must also be submitted to the Event Authorization system.
The following criteria will be used to review proposed events:
- Student-oriented and substance-free
- Free, open to, promoted to, and potentially of interest to all Iowa State students
- Includes an intentional community building or interactive element so that students can meet one another
- Planned location is on campus
- Off-campus programs may be considered only if there is no appropriate space on campus to hold the event
If approved, events will be listed on the Find Your ComMUnity website and event calendar and included in the weekly Around the Zodiac email. Event organizers are strongly encouraged to use the Find Your ComMUnity event tagline and mark on their marketing materials. Attendee names and Iowa State email addresses must be submitted after the event for assessment purposes.
