Memorial Union Artist Submission Information

About the Art Exhibition Program:

The art exhibition program has existed at the Memorial Union since the 1930s, when the Iowa artists’ show was brought from the State Fair and included works by Grant Wood and other Iowa notables. At that time, shows were installed in the Great Hall. When the 1953 and 1964 additions were completed, exhibits moved to the third floor into spaces designed for the display of art works. In the summer of 2020 the Browsing Library on the 1st floor was converted into a dedicated space called the Memorial Union Art Gallery and beginning in Fall 2020 all art exhibitions moved to this space.

Located in room 1568 on the 1st floor of the Memorial Union, the Gallery is open Monday - Friday from 11am-4pm and Sunday from 1-4pm.
