The Workspace is a vibrant arts and crafts studio nestled at the heart of Iowa State’s campus. Whether you're a student looking to unwind, an artist seeking inspiration, or a member of the community eager to explore your artistic side, The Workspace welcomes you with open arms. With a wide array of tools, materials, and knowledgeable staff, you'll find unique drop-in crafts, weekly paint your own pottery themes, classes and open studios. From pottery to painting, jewelry-making to woodworking, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Join us at The Workspace and let your creativity flourish in a welcoming environment. Find us in the east basement of the Memorial Union.

Hours

Fall (First day of classes in August through early December)  
Spring (First day of classes in January through April 30)
Summer (June 1 - July 31)

Monday - Friday 2 - 9 pm
Saturday 10 am - 4 pm
Closed Sunday

The Workspace is closed when ISU is on break (Fall and Spring break), between class semesters, and on holidays.

We are always impressed by our guests' creativity, whether seasoned ceramicists, elementary schoolers painting pottery, or college students unwinding with crafts between classes. The Workspace is a welcoming place for anyone to explore creative outlets and endeavors, no matter their skill level, age, or even budget.

Where to Find Us

The Workspace is located in the East Basement of the Iowa State Memorial Union on the Iowa State University Campus in Ames. We are a little bit hard to find the first time, but well worth the trip!
