Flyer Distribution Service

Policy & Procedures 

  • Only available for recognized ISU Student Organizations and ISU Departments.

  • The Student Organization or Department name must be clearly listed on the flyer as a sponsor or promoter of the event

    • The service costs $30 for recognized student organizations. Payment must be made by COA Purchase Order, by the Treasurer of your Student Organization prior to dropping off flyers to Student Engagement. Please email with the approved COA Purchase Order as well as a digital copy of the flyer, prior to dropping off flyers. Your organization will receive an email confirmation of payment and that the flyer meets the Iowa State University Posting Policy and the flyer distribution guidelines. 

    • The service costs $75 for ISU departments. Payment for service will need to be made by providing your Worktag info to prior to dropping off flyers to Student Engagement.

  • Are you hosting an event, meeting, or fundraiser? Events need to be approved through the University Event Authorization process before submitting your flyers for distribution. Please note that, depending on the event, it can take up to 3-15 business days for approval

  • If the student organization or ISU Department is promoting an event or fundraiser, the date of the event or fundraiser must be at least 10 days after the flyer distribution date. Flyer Distribution occurs weekly on Tuesdays

    • Effective Fall 2022 Drop off deadline for flyers will be by 5pm Fridays and Flyer Distribution will occur on Mondays.

  • All flyers must include either the date of posting or the date of the event (and may be posted no more than one month in advance of the event). Flyers will be removed after thirty days or in the case of advertisements for an event, after the date of the event. All posting will conform to the Iowa State University Posting Policy

  • Websites and QR Codes that link to third-party websites (URLs) or Google Docs are not permitted. The student organization’s official webpage in the Student Organization Database or the website of a connected or supporting ISU department is allowed.

  • Usage of Iowa State University trademarks must follow student guidelines and policies as managed by the Trademark Licensing Office.

  • Maximum flyer size accepted for distribution is 11" x 17"

Distribution Information

Once the above steps have been completed: 

  • Effective Fall 2022  Drop off 228 flyers along with payment to Student Engagement before 5:00pm on the Friday the week prior to when you want flyers to be distributed.

    • ISU Student Organizations need to email the COA Purchase Order confirmation email to and then bring in a copy of the email with flyers.

    • ISU Departments will need to ​​​​​email Worktag info to (before dropping off flyers) and then bring a printed copy of email with flyers

  • The date of the event or promotion date on the flyer is required to be at least 10 days after the flyer distribution date. Flyers will be distributed weekly on Mondays

    • Effective Fall 2022  Flyer Distribution will occur weekly on Mondays 

  • No Flyer Distribution Service during Prep Week, Finals Week, Summer or when school is not in session

Flyers are distributed in the following places: 

  • All Residence Halls 

  • Sorority and Fraternity Engagement 

  • Memorial Union 

  • 55 additional buildings across campus 

Please note that the decision to utilize this service is voluntary and we cannot guarantee any flyers will be posted nor remain posted for any period of time.
