Event Funding Board Members

The Student Organization Event Funding Board provides recognized student organizations an opportunity to receive funds for events throughout the academic year (fall and spring semesters only). The Student Activities Center is currently seeking student representatives to serve on the Event Funding Board and assist with this process. As a member of the board, you will have the opportunity to review event proposals from a wide variety of student organizations and assist in allocating funds to events that will contribute to Iowa State's diverse and vibrant community.  In order to be considered for a spot on the board, you must meet the following criteria and submit an application at the link below. Criteria for Student Board Members:

  • Must be a full-time student

  • Must be in good academic standing with the university

  • Must be able to devote approximately 2-3 hours per month to this commitment

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience managing or reviewing budgets for student organizations or other entity

  • Event planning experience

  • Experience in reviewing funding applications

Board Member Responsibilities:

  • Each board member will be responsible for reviewing the submitted applications electronically and outside of the designated meeting time for the board

  • Each board member must complete a rating sheet for each proposal 

  • Board members are expected to attend every board meeting with completed rating sheets and must actively contribute to the discussion

  • Board members must serve as representatives for the student body at large, and not representatives for any specific organization they may be involved with
