Event Purpose

The Student Activities Center will be hosting the first annual Student Organization Resource Fair this fall. This event will provide Ames businesses and ISU departments with an opportunity to connect with student organization officers and promote services and resources open to student organizations.

Iowa State has over 900 recognized student organizations with roughly 4,500 student organization officers. This event will be a great way for you to connect with student organizations and show them what you offer.

Cost and Registration

  • To register, fill out the form and then mail payment to:

  • Payment can also be made with credit card by visiting our office or calling 515-294-8081.

  • Payment & Registration Deadline:

    • Early Registration: $50 if payment is received by Friday, August 24. 

    • Regular Registration: $100 if payment is received after Friday, August 24.

    • For WelcomeFest 2018 registrants: $50 fee required by Friday, September 14.

Financial Sponsors

  • Businesses/Departments will have their logo included on the SAC webpage, a direct message sent to student organization officers, and signage at the event for an additional fee of $100.

  • Sponsors will also receive premier placement in the Great Hall by the entrance used by students.

  • A high res logo (300 dpi or greater) is required. Logos may be emailed to Tim Reuter (tmreuter@iastate.edu).

  • Sponsor information must be received by Friday, August 31, or it will not be included on advertisements.

Booth Information

  • Booths will be assigned on a first-registered, first-paid basis. 

  • Booth set up will be from 4:30 - 6:00pm on Thursday, September 20. Tear down and load out will be from 8:00 - 8:30pm the same evening.

Display Information

  • Each registrant will receive one six foot table and one chair. Displays cannot extend beyond six feet in one space. If you need more than six feet, you will want to purchase two spaces.

  • Displays must comply with fire code and safety restrictions. If there are concerns about your display, you will be notified immediately to work out an alternative solution.

  • Please let us know what freebies you are handing out so we can insure that they follow our standards for this event.

  • If you choose to give out food samples, you must be licensed and insured. Additional paperwork will be required for samples that are cooked by the restaurant or business. Contact Tim Reuter (tmreuter@iastate.edu) if you are interested in handing out samples.

  • The Student Organization Resource Fair will be advertised as a FREE event for student organization officers. Selling foods/services/products at the booths is NOT allowed. However, you may give away samples, invitations, or information in regards to the products/services you offer to student organizations. Credit card solicitation is prohibited at Iowa State University.

  • Electricity is limited to a first-registered, first-paid basis. Please bring your own extension cords.

  • All fees are non-refundable

  • Parking is available in the MU ramp adjacent to the building. One parking pass will be provided per booth space purchased.
