Co-Sponsor ISU AfterDark
Are you interested in partnering with an organization that provides students with fun and exciting late-night activities? Check out ISU AfterDark!
Upcoming dates: September 29 & November 3
For each of these events, we need co-sponsors to host different activities for the AfterDark attendees. These activities have included trivia, dancing, crafts, carnival games and Henna tattoos. You can be as creative as you would like, and we will pay up to 100% of the cost of your supplies. Plus, this is great exposure to over 2,000 students and helpful in recruiting new members to your org! To co-sponsor an activity, please visit afterdark.iastate.edu and complete a Proposal Form.

Resources and Opportunities
Student Conduct: Know the Code
The Office of Student Conduct has been working hard this summer on preparing educational materials for students, student org officers, staff and faculty related to the disciplinary regulations. We are pleased to announce that we have developed a website that is filled with resources (infographics, pamphlets, videos, etc.) that are intended to assist students in understanding the universities’ expectations of their behavior. http://knowthecode.dso.iastate.edu/
Additionally, a video has been made available that explains the sexual misconduct policy, ways to report, and the university process. Student Conduct asks all student org officers to view this video and share it with your members (http://knowthecode.dso.iastate.edu/resources/sexual-misconduct).
Questions regarding the sexual misconduct policy or to make a report of an incident should be directed to the Office of Equal Opportunity at eooffice@iastate.edu or 515-294-7612.
Youth Program Leader Training for Student Organization Officers
The Offices of Risk Management, Extension and Outreach, and Conference Planning and Management will collectively offer training to provide youth program leaders and student organization officers with information regarding youth related policies, procedures and forms for successfully conducting youth programs at ISU.
It is important for youth program leaders, camp directors, student organization officers, and others responsible for planning and supervising youth programs to understand applicable ISU resources and policies [i.e. Youth Activities, Pre-Collegiate Programs and Camps (YAP); Children in the Workplace; and Volunteers].
Training sessions will be helpful for anyone responsible for planning and supervising youth programs and for those who provide administrative support for youth programs. Training sessions will be conducted on the following dates and times during the Fall semester 2017:
-
Tuesday, October 10, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the 4-H Extension Building, Conference Room 1020
-
Wednesday, November 8, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Administrative Services Building (ASB), Conference Room 1155
-
Tuesday, December 5, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Administrative Services Building (ASB), Conference Room 1155
Pre-registration is required to ensure sufficient seating and handouts for attendees. To register, send an email to orm@iastate.edu at least two days prior to the training session you wish to attend. Please contact the Office of Risk Management at 515-294-7711 if you need assistance or are interested in scheduling an individual small or large group training session.
New Student Organization Driver Training
All student organization members who wish to drive for their student organization travel must take the NEW Student Organization Driver Training before they travel.
*Note: if you have already taken the previous 15-passenger van training, you are exempt from the new driver training. Moving forward driver training and 15-passenger van training will be separate, and anyone needing to take 15-passenger van training who had not previously will also need to take this new driver training.
