Get Funding for Your Fall Event!

Is your student organization looking for some additional funds to make your fall semester events even better? Submit an event proposal to the Event Funding Board! The Student Organization Event Funding Board offers recognized student organizations an opportunity to receive funds for events throughout the academic year (fall and spring semesters only).

The last proposal submission deadline for this semester is Monday, April 23. Submit your proposal today!

Questions? Email eventfunds@iastate.edu.

Advertise Your Organization in the Get Involved Booklet

Looking for a cool way to advertise your student org? Each semester, the Student Activities Center (SAC) produces a full-color booklet, Get Involved, that highlights student involvement opportunities including joining or starting student orgs, an overview of arts and entertainment opportunities, as well as leadership and service programs and the benefits of being involved. Copies of the booklet will be handed out at Fall ClubFest and mailed to residence halls. As an advertiser, you will reach thousands of new students who are seeking ways to get involved, meet new people, and make their own ISU experience a meaningful one.

To reserve your space, just fill out the Ad Space Request Form by Wednesday, April 25. Email sacgibook@iastate.edu with any questions.

Update Your Officers in the Student Organization Database

If your student organization has recently transitioned the President, Treasurer, or Adviser positions, remember to update them via the online Compliance Agreement Form on the Student Organization Database!

If any other officers within your organization have changed, please make sure your roster is also updated. You can find an easy tutorial on navigating the database under "My StuOrg" and "Training."

Showcase Your Club at Odyssey of the Mind Creativity Festival!

Odyssey of the Mind World Finals will return to the Iowa State University (ISU) campus this year at the end of May. The World Finals, which rotates to ISU every two years, brings over 8,000 participants (pre-teen, teen and collegiate age) from all over the United States, as well as internationally, to our campus and community. The participants compete in creative competitions throughout the week in various buildings on campus and in the Iowa State Center.

During their time on Iowa State's campus, Conference Planning and Management organizes a Creativity Festival for the participants to attend when they are not in competitions. The Festival will host various exhibits, including Odyssey of the Mind teams as well as campus, department, and local groups offering educational/interactive opportunities for the participants during their free time. There will be music, stage entertainment, and open recreation as well. The Festival will be held in the Lied Rec Center during the following days/times:

  • Thursday, May 24: 9-11am (Setup)

  • Thursday, May 24: 12-5pm

  • Friday: May 25: 9am-5pm

  • Saturday, May 26: 9am-12pm

  • Saturday, May 26: 12-3pm (Break Down)

Involvement in the Creativity Festival will require full staffing during open hours. To apply for a booth, complete an application and return to Aubrey Robertson (aroberts@iastate.edu). The deadline for applications is Monday, April 30.
