Resources and Opportunities for Organizations and Officers

Health and Safety Guidelines for Student Organizations

During the fall semester, student organizations demonstrated creativity and employed an innovative spirit to accomplish their goals while keeping club members safe and healthy. That same spirit and creativity will be needed this spring semester as Iowa State continues to employ safety measure to mitigate the risks around COVID-19.

Student Activities is here to support and guide you as your organization begins planning for the spring semester To help with your planning, make sure to review the Health and Safety Guidelines for Student Organizations and contact our office with any questions. You can email sac@iastate.edu or call 515-294-8081.

New Workday Payment Solution for Student Organizations

Campus Organizations Accounting (COA) is pleased to announce a newly configured payment request process in Workday available for use by recognized student organizations.  This new process, called Create Miscellaneous Payment Request, will allow for paperless payment requests by check when student-held purchasing cards are not accepted by suppliers for payment.  The COA staff have been working with the university’s business system analysts to configure this new payment request process since the fall semester.  By leveraging Workday’s imbedded Business Process routing and approval process, university student treasurers and their faculty advisors will no longer need to meet face to face to obtain pen to paper signature approvals.

Job aids to assist in the process are available on the Campus Organizations Accounting website. For questions, contact Jamie Barker (jlrb@iastate.edu)
