Register for the Social Justice Summit Today

The Social Justice Summit is an overnight, off-campus workshop that will give you the chance to learn more about the identities we carry, discuss how people experience the world differently, and create steps to address social systems of power, privilege, and oppression. This workshop is open to undergraduate and graduate students.

Request Office Space & Storage for Your Club

The Student Activities Center is accepting applications for Student Office Space and Basement Storage for the 2018-2019 academic year. 

In order to be eligible for space you must apply by Friday, March 9. 

Space is limited. Please complete this form to request or renew space for your organization for the 2018-2019 school year. Along with the application, the process includes an in-person interview to further determine the space needs for each organization. Interview times will be scheduled after the application due date. At least one member of your organization will need to attend the interview in order to be eligible to receive space. Questions can be directed to Tim Reuter, the Student Organizations Resource Coordinator, at tmreuter@iastate.edu.

The 2018 Student Organization Award categories include:

  • Outstanding Student Organization Adviser of the Year

Co-Sponsor an Upcoming ISU AfterDark

Are you interested in partnering with an organization that provides students with fun and exciting late-night activities? Check out ISU AfterDark!

Upcoming dates: March 2 & April 2

For each of these events, we need co-sponsors to host different activities for the AfterDark attendees. These activities have included trivia, dancing, crafts, carnival games and Henna tattoos. You can be as creative as you would like, and we will pay up to 100% of the cost of your supplies. Plus, this is great exposure to over 2,000 students and helpful in recruiting new members to your org! To co-sponsor an activity, please visit afterdark.iastate.edu and complete a Proposal Form.

Be a STAR! Applications Open February 26 - March 9

Student Admissions Representatives (STARS) is a great volunteer opportunity, a way to share Cyclone pride, and a chance to gain valuable life skills! STARS give daily campus and residence hall tours to prospective students and their families during the school year. Along with daily visits, STARS also help with Experience Iowa State visit days and group visits. STARS commit around 8-10 hours per month to help with visits, but the position has a lot of flexibility as the Office of Admissions will work around your schedule!

Fundraising Opportunity at Odyssey of the Mind

If your club is looking to raise funds over the summer, ISU Dining is currently seeking student organizations to assist with dining shifts during the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals conference. Approximate dates of service would be Wednesday, May 23 - Saturday, May 26 or Sunday, May 27. More information about this fundraising opportunity can be found on ISU Dining's website. Is your organization planning an event to be held in the Memorial Union in the fall? Make sure you mark the opening dates for fall reservations in the MU! Sponsored and Affiliated Tiered organizations can start reserving space Monday, April 2, and all student organizations can reserve space starting Monday, April 9. Looking for a spring fundraising or promotional opportunity? Cyclone Carnival is now recruiting organizations to be a part of their upcoming event on Saturday, April 14

Cyclone Carnival is an expansion of Cyclone Market that will feature food vendors, carnival rides & games, interactive novelties, and activities hosted by student organizations. Student organizations may participate by hosting any of the following family-friendly activities:

  • Live performances

  • Market sales

  • Games

  • Educational sessions

Apply to be on the Cyclone Health Ambassador Team

The Cyclone Health Ambassador Team (CHAT) is a new student organization that works with the four different departments of the Student Health and Wellness Unit to help build a culture of wellbeing on campus.

CHAT will partner with the Student Health and Wellness unit to help build a culture of health and well being on campus by conducting outreach on health and wellness resources, being key communicators of health and wellness, and serving in an advisory capacity to the Student Health and Wellness unit. "Know Your Rights" Information Panel

The Division of Diversity and Inclusion welcomes all student organization officers to attend and participate in a panel discussion and training opportunity. There will be time for questions.

When March 6
Where: Memorial Union – Sun Room
Time: 2 to 3:30pm

The panel forum will provide the following information:

  • What are the rights and information for residents navigating DACA concerns?

  • What are the resources including legal support both in Iowa and at ISU?

  • What are some community resources for support?
