Register for the Social Justice Summit Today

The Social Justice Summit is a day-long workshop that will give you the chance to learn more about the identities we carry, discuss how people experience the world differently, and create steps to address social systems of power, privilege, and oppression. This workshop is open to undergraduate and graduate students.

Start an Online Store for Your Student Organization

The Student Organization Marketplace is an online tool where recognized student orgs at ISU are able to extend their business to the internet and more effectively reach the larger Iowa State community and beyond. You can use the Marketplace to sell event registrations, collect membership dues and receive non-charitable donations. By purchasing a product through the Student Org Marketplace, customers are directly supporting your organization!

Save Your Stuff! Submit Your Old Student Org Files to University Archives

The University Archives is looking to gather materials related to student organizations to better document the student experience at Iowa State. If your club has old files that are no longer being used please consider donating them to the archives so they can be preserved. The types of files we are looking for include meeting minutes, reports, scrapbooks, constitutions, communications, programs, and photographs that document the activities of your organization. These files may be in paper or digital format--we are interested in both. If you have any questions or to inquire about donating materials, please contact Brad Kuennen, University Archivist, at kuennen@iastate.edu or 515-294-4216.

Student Government Funding

Student Government will be allocating over $1.6 million to student organizations and services during their Annual Allocations process. All organizations receiving funding must attend an information session. Checkout the eligibility requirements to see if your student organization qualifies.

Submit a Proposal to the Event Funding Board

Is your student organization is looking for some additional funds to make your upcoming event even better? Submit an event proposal to the Event Funding Board! The Student Organization Event Funding Board offers recognized student organizations an opportunity to receive funds for events throughout the academic year (fall and spring semesters only). The ultimate goal of this program is to aid student organizations in creating diverse and inclusive events that will contribute to Iowa State’s vibrant community. Student organizations can now apply for funds each month for events that are at least 6 weeks out from the monthly deadline!

We are also looking for undergraduate or graduate students to serve as at-large members on the board. A full description of responsibilities and the board member application are available online.

Event Authorization Reminder

If your org is planning an event that includes guests, members of other orgs, is open to the Iowa State Community or individuals from other universities, you need to have your even authorized. You can review the event authorization system training in the student org database. Once you pass the quiz, email eventauthorization@iastate.edu to be added to the system. Fill out an Online Event Authorization Form and submit it online at least ten class days prior to the date of the event. Your event may require more time to be authorized depending on the details of your program, so please start this process as soon as you begin planning.

Host Your Next Event at the Lynn Fuhrer Lodge

The Lynn Fuhrer Lodge is available for reservations! This unique location set in the woods is the perfect spot for your club's all-day retreats or long meetings (reservations must be a minimum of three hours long). A fee was set starting September 1, 2016 to use the Lynn Fuhrer Lodge. The fee is $35 for Recognized Student Organizations, $100 for ISU Departments, and must be paid by ISU Intramural before reservations are confirmed. MORE.

Fundraising Opportunity with CyBowl & Billiards

The CyBowl Giveback Program is an exciting, new way to fundraise and promote your organization! Held in CyBowl & Billiards, this fundraiser will give your student org 25 percent of the revenue earned from bowling, shoe rental or billiards from any guest that presents the giveback invitation/flyer. Giveback events are held 12pm - close on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday based on the orgs preference and the availability of CyBowl & Billiards. 

Your Giveback Reservation Request should be submitted a minimum of ten class days prior to the date of the event. You should definitely learn more about this program! 

Share Your Love for Iowa State: Be a Destination Iowa State TEAM LEADER!

Interested in a great leadership opportunity that welcomes new students to campus? Apply to be a Destination Iowa State Team Leader!

This leadership position is an excellent way to show your Cyclone pride to new students, be part of a team, develop leadership skills, and earn up to $350. Each Team Leader is responsible for leading and mentoring a group of 12-15 students throughout the Destination Iowa State experience. The time commitment for this position includes two mandatory leadership development workshops, completing a course on Blackboard, and being available for the entire Destination Iowa State program from August 17-19, 2017.
