Get Funding for Your Student Organization!

Student Government will be allocating over $2.6 million to student organizations and services during their Annual Allocations process. Checkout the Priorities and Criteria to see if your student organization qualifies. All organizations receiving funding must attend an information session. View the full Allocations Schedule here

Utilize the Leadership and Service Center!

The Leadership and Service Center is a great resource for student organizations seeking assistance. Here's what the LSC can do for your student organization:

  • Help you start a new club or organization
  • Facilitate custom workshops and teambuilders for your organization
  • Advise you on how to improve your club
  • Help you through student organization processes (event authorization, funding, etc.)
  • Provide you with upcoming leadership and service opportunities
  • Check out teambuilder materials for your next club meeting
  • And so much more!

Submit Your Organization's Events to the University Event Authorization System

Student organizations planning events open to more than just their club membership should submit them for review using the new University Event Authorization System! The new system has several improved features that will be useful for you as you work through the planning and approval process.

A new University Event Authorization Training is also available in the Student Organization Database to help you learn how to navigate the new site and successfully submit an event to the system.

Apply to be a Destination Iowa State TEAM LEADER!

Interested in a great leadership opportunity that welcomes new students to campus? Want to develop your leadership and networking skills? Apply to be a Destination Iowa State Team Leader!

·         Be a mentor!

·         Help new Cyclones!

·         Be part of a team!

·         Develop leadership skills!

·         Earn up to $375!

Time Commitment:

·         Two leadership development workshops

·         Canvas course in Spring 2020

·         Available for all of Destination Iowa State from August 20-22, 2020

Get Funding for Your Next Event from the Event Funding Board

Is your student organization looking for some additional funds to make your upcoming event even better? Submit an event proposal to the Event Funding Board! The Student Organization Event Funding Board offers recognized student organizations an opportunity to receive funds for events throughout the academic year (fall and spring semesters only). Student organizations can apply for funds each month for events that are at least 5 weeks out from the monthly deadline! The next deadline for event funding is Monday, September 30. Submit your event proposal today!

Update Officers and Take Advantage of the Student Organization Database Features

If your student organization has recently transitioned the President, Treasurer, or Adviser positions, don't forget to update them via the online Compliance Agreement Form on the Student Organization Database!

And remember to check out all the useful features available to your club in the Student Org Database

  • Display all your club's photos in the photo gallery application.

  • Use the calendar feature to list events and meetings for your org's members and anyone who visits your webpage. Students can also subscribe to your calendar so that your events show up on their personal calendar within the student org database, which can be found under "MyStuorg," and then "Calendar.

  • Manage your subscribers! Students, faculty, staff and anyone with an account can subscribe to your org to get announcements in addition to the info on your calendar. Be sure to visit the "Manage Subscribers" page to see who's subscribing to your org and invite others. Once you have a list, you can create and send announcements to those subscribers within the site.

Reserve Space for Your Organization's Event in the MU

Is your organization planning an event to be held in the Memorial Union in the next year? Book your space now! All student organizations can now reserve space in the MU up to one year out from the date of your event.

Take Advantage of the Student Organization Marketplace

The Student Organization Marketplace is an online tool where recognized student orgs at ISU are able to extend their business to the internet and more effectively reach the larger Iowa State community and beyond. You can use the Marketplace to sell event registrations, collect membership dues and receive non-charitable donations. By purchasing a product through the Student Org Marketplace, customers are directly supporting your organization!

Reserve the Lynn Fuhrer Lodge for Your Next Retreat

The Lynn Fuhrer Lodge is available for reservations! This unique location set in the woods is the perfect spot for your club's all-day retreats or long meetings (reservations must be a minimum of three hours long).
