Advertise Your Organization in the Get Involved Booklet

Looking for a cool way to advertise your student org? The Student Activities Center (SAC) is producing a full-color booklet, Get Involved, that will highlight student involvement opportunities including joining or starting student orgs, an overview of arts and entertainment opportunities, as well as leadership and service programs and the benefits of being involved. Copies of the booklet will be handed out at Spring ClubFest and mailed to residence halls. As an advertiser, you will reach thousands of new students who are seeking ways to get involved, meet new people and make their own ISU experience a meaningful one. To reserve your space, just email sacgibook@iastate.edu.

Shadow a Non-Profit Organization Administrator

Are you interested in gaining experience with a non-profit org? Each spring semester, the Student Activities Center and the United Way of Story County co-sponsor the  Non-Profit Protege Program, which provides you the opportunity to walk in the shoes of a local non-profit administrator. Throughout the semester, each protege attends weekly meetings with a mentor. You will have opportunities to attend board, staff and committee meetings, visit with potential financial donors and witness the impact and fullfillment a non-profit leader brings.

This is not an internship experience; rather, it is an opportunity for you to directly shadow a non-profit administrator. The purpose of this program is to gain interest in exploring the non-profit world and to give you firsthand experience in the field. Apply today!

Keep Your Club's Events and Subscriptions Current

Make sure your Student Organization Database information is current so that anyone browsing your club's information can see what's coming up and get notified on future events. Use the calendar feature to list events and meetings for your members and anyone who visits your webpage. Students can also subscribe to your calendar so that your events show up on their personal calendar within the student organization database, which can be found under "My Stuorg," and then "Calendar."

Once you create your event on the calendar, you can have event attendees check in with a prox card or card swipe reader that collects participant names in a database within your website. You can then pull an attendance report at any time.

Manage your subscribers! Students, faculty, staff and anyone with an account can subscribe to your organization to get announcements in addition to the information on your calendar. Be sure to visit the "Manage Subscribers" page to see who's subscribing to your organization, and invite others to subscribe. Once you have a list, you can create and send announcements to those subscribers within the site.

Give Yourself a Competitive Edge with a Co-curricular Transcript!

What is a co-curricular transcript (CCT), you ask? A CCT is a record of your involvement, experiences and achievements as an ISU student. Having a CCT serves as a one stop shop for you to demonstrate skills and attributes to employers, graduate schools, scholarship selection committees, internship providers and more - giving you that competitive edge!

Your CCT can include: Campus involvement, community service, honors & awards, internships & study abroad, leadership experience, on-campus employment, publications, recreational activities, research, seminars & workshops, and student org involvement.

Does Your Student Org Need Funds?

The CyBowl Giveback Program is an exciting, new way to fundraise and promote your organization! Held in CyBowl & Billiards, this fundraiser will give your student org 25 percent of the revenue earned from bowling, shoe rental or billiards from any guest that presents the giveback invitation/flyer. Giveback events are held 12pm - close on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday based on the orgs preference and the availability of CyBowl & Billiards.

Your Giveback Reservation Request should be submitted a minimum of ten class days prior to the date of the event. You should definitely learn more about this program!
