Advertise Your Organization in the Get Involved Booklet

Looking for a cool way to advertise your student org? Try the Student Activities Center's Get Involved Booklet!

Copies of the booklet are handed out at Spring ClubFest and mailed to residence halls. As an advertiser, you will reach thousands of students who are seeking ways to get involved. 

Ad Space Request Forms are due by Friday, December 6.

Iowa State Leadership Experience (ISLE) is a one day leadership conference for students to further their leadership skills and network with other campus leaders.

Any student, faculty, or staff member can submit a proposal to facilitate a breakout session on a leadership topic of your choice for Iowa State student leaders! Help us make ISLE 2020 an impactful leadership conference for all students!

Applying for Scholarships? Use the Co-Curricular Transcript to Help!

What is a co-curricular transcript (CCT), you ask? A CCT is a record of your involvement, experiences and achievements as an ISU student. Having a CCT serves as a one stop shop for you to demonstrate skills and attributes to employers, graduate schools, scholarship selection committees, internship providers and more - giving you that competitive edge! 

Your CCT can include: Campus involvement, community service, honors & awards, internships & study abroad, leadership experience, on-campus employment, publications, recreational activities, research, seminars & workshops, and student org involvement.

Save the Date: 2020 Iowa State Conference on Race and Ethnicity

The Iowa State Conference on Race and Ethnicity (ISCORE) is the university’s local initiative designed to provide an ongoing platform of sharing and applying new knowledge through presentations and workshops. The conference supports the university’s Mission to “create, share, and apply knowledge…and make Iowa and the world a better place.”

This comprehensive forum on issues of race and ethnicity is free and open to the Iowa State University community (students, faculty and staff).

Nominate Someone for the Wallace E. Barron All-University Senior Award

It’s time to nominate outstanding seniors for the 2019-20 Wallace E. Barron All-University Senior Award.  This award recognizes outstanding ISU seniors who display high character, outstanding achievements in academics and university/community activities, and promise for continuing these exemplary qualities as alumni.

Applicants must be an undergraduate student with senior classification status (90+ credits) and a 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of fall semester 2019 (seniors graduating fall 2019 are eligible to receive the award).  The recipient receives a class ring, and recognition at an event in April. Nomination forms are available HERE.  Submit your nominations on or before December 1.

“Who makes you feel like a valued member of the ISU community?”

The Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) is partnering with ISU Learning Communities, the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, the Student Government, and the Graduate and Professional Student Senate to celebrate and promote effective teaching, advising and mentoring with the annual recognition initiative #CyThx at Iowa State University.

We hope that all Cyclones take time to acknowledge their Iowa State University faculty, graduate teaching assistants, peer mentors, advisers, faculty/staff mentors, colleagues, and more.

Before November 30, Cyclones are encouraged to answer, “Who makes you feel like a valued member of the ISU community?” via our #CyThx at ISU online submission web form.

Update Officers and Take Advantage of the Student Organization Database Features

If your student organization has recently transitioned the President, Treasurer, or Adviser positions, don't forget to update them via the online Compliance Agreement Form on the Student Organization Database!

And remember to check out all the useful features available to your club in the Student Org Database

  • Display all your club's photos in the photo gallery application.

  • Use the calendar feature to list events and meetings for your org's members and anyone who visits your webpage. Students can also subscribe to your calendar so that your events show up on their personal calendar within the student org database, which can be found under "MyStuorg," and then "Calendar.

  • Manage your subscribers! Students, faculty, staff and anyone with an account can subscribe to your org to get announcements in addition to the info on your calendar. Be sure to visit the "Manage Subscribers" page to see who's subscribing to your org and invite others. Once you have a list, you can create and send announcements to those subscribers within the site.

The Student Organization Marketplace is an online tool where recognized student orgs at ISU are able to extend their business to the internet and more effectively reach the larger Iowa State community and beyond. You can use the Marketplace to sell event registrations, collect membership dues and receive non-charitable donations. By purchasing a product through the Student Org Marketplace, customers are directly supporting your organization!
