Iowa Student Leadership Experience

The Iowa Student Leadership Experience (ISLE) is a one-day leadership conference that brings students together to collaborate, engage, and practice meaningful leadership. ISLE is a collaboration between Iowa State University, the University of Northern Iowa, and the University of Iowa and is open to students from all three campuses. 

ISLE 2024 will be held at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls on Saturday, 24 February 2024. Transportation and lunch are provided, buses will leave Ames at 7:30 am and return by 6 pm.


Catalyst by LeaderShape

Catalyst is a one-day program designed for anyone who is interested in starting something extraordinary. Participating in Catalyst is a first step in the life-long process of learning, exploration, and action.

This program is designed to allow you the time and space to connect with others and engage in learning more about your own story of leadership. You will explore questions like: Who do I want to be? What is my story? Am I being the person I want to be? What are the causes and communities I care most about and how can I contribute? 

Join us on Saturday 27, 2024 at the Memorial Union from 9:30 am - 4 pm. Registration is limited to the first 60 participants, so don't delay! Free event, lunch provided, open to all Iowa State University students.

  • Students will register for spring 2024 courses and summer 2024 courses in AccessPlus.

  • Students will register for fall 2024 courses in Workday.

  • Students will get guidance on how to register for courses in Workday.

  • The Workday app will automatically appear on students’ Sign On Dashboards ( in the spring before they register.

Register for the Health & Wellness Symposium

The 2nd Annual Health and Well-being Symposium will be held February 2nd, 2024, 9AM– 3PM at the Memorial Union. The Breakout sessions and keynote speaker will focus on Wellbeing and Engagement on College Campuses. This symposium is FREE for Iowa State University Students, Faculty, and Staff and includes lunch, snacks, and refreshments!

Student Organization Recognition Board

The SORB consists of active student leaders from a wide variety of recognized student organizations in addition to staff from Student Engagement, The Office of Risk Management, Student Government, and Recreation Services. SORB meets bi-weekly and looks for students from a variety of backgrounds with current experience leading student organizations. If you are interested in becoming a part of the SORB, please fill out the application HERE for consideration.

Volunteer for the 2024 Iowa Regional Science Bowl

Do you love science or fun competition or maybe both?  If so, we need your help!

The Iowa Regional Science Bowl is an opportunity for students to excel in STEM while experiencing a sense of community with other STEM-focused tweens and teens. Please join us as we bring this amazing opportunity to Iowa students!  

The Iowa Regional High School is scheduled for Feb. 3, 2024, and the Middle School Science Bowl is scheduled for March 2, 2024.  Both will be on-site and in person on the Iowa State University campus. We are seeking volunteers to serve as judges, moderators, timers, scorekeepers, and runners during the competition. Volunteers receive training, an awesome t-shirt, a choice of a "goody" item, and free lunch on the day of the event.
