Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Action Plan

Overarching Priorities 

  • Develop training/education framework for student staff and Student Engagement-affiliated student organization leaders specific to diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

  • Review our programs and services to ensure diverse identities and experiences are represented and that all students feel welcomed to participate. 

  • Recruit, hire, and/or select and retain diverse professional staff, student staff, and student organization leaders. 

  • Review our resources and operations with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion including 

    • Policies, procedures, and practices (including communication of the same) 

    • Budget 

    • Accessibility/access 

  • Prioritize and communicate importance of staff development, both individually and as a group.

Create a cohort of student organization leaders with positions or charges related to diversity, equity, and inclusion to facilitate relationship building and resource sharing.

  • Evaluate desire for ongoing meetings/communication

  • Identify organizations and leaders by September 1

Create and implement a professional development plan for Student Engagement staff.
  • Research what other offices/departments on campus are doing as a group that works well
